Meet the SolarizeCNY Contractors
Five Selected for 2015
The SolarizeCNY program is a limited time program that makes it easier and more affordable than ever for homeowners, businesses and non profits to use solar energy to power the buildings they own. The non-profit program is being managed by the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board working with local community groups and volunteers throughout the five counties of Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego.
SolarizeCNY achieves cost savings by encouraging lots of people to install solar panels in a short period of time. The solar companies benefit from the economies of scale associated with having many customers installing solar in one area at one time, so the companies are able to offer a significantly reduced price on the solar panel installations. SolarizeCNY streamlines the process for potential solar customers by educating them about the details of solar panels, selecting reputable solar installation companies through a competitive process to ensure they meet established criteria, and informing customers of potential financing options as well as available state and Federal financial incentives.
Mainstream Green created the following videos to help promote the SolarizeCNY program. This first video is a story of what happened when Lyncourt Veterinary Hospital went solar in 2014. We hope the five videos below will help you get to know the installer(s) in your area.
