Mainstream Green to present Award Winning short documentary, "Idle Threat: Man on Emission" Sept. 18, 2015 at Camillus NY Fire Department
Idling internal combustion engines waste more than 3.8 Million gallons of fuel a day in America, costing money while contributing to local air pollution, respiratory disease and global climate change.
Idle Threat is a lively look at one man’s spirited struggle to improve public health by raising awareness about idling’s impact, starting in New York City. Against all odds, he succeeds, helping improve local air quality, while gaining world-wide recognition for the anti-idling cause, with articles featured in the Wall Street Journal, New Yorker magazine, and the Financial Times.
George Pakenham, the documentary's star and producer, will be in Camillus to meet and discuss idling and movie making with the audience. Also on hand? A host of ELECTRIC vehicle owners and enthusaists, whose cars will be available for your inspection and test rides for some. Even the newest all electric sedan in the US market, the BMW3i will be in the house, as part of the fifth annual National Drive Electric Week.
